The Plan We plan to sail Nordlys (our Contessa 32) round britain in 2010 to raise funds and awareness for brain cancer. We bought Nordlys in April and set about learning how to sail her and preparing for the challenge next year. Since Josie's diagnosis, we have become involved in many fundraising activities to try to further research and provide support for other cancer patients, but nothing quite like this! Summer Training Trip We had a very successful summer "training trip" on the South Coast. Unfortunately the persistent South Westerlies prevented us from getting all the way to the Scilly Isles but we have acheived the main aim of feeling confident sailing Nordlys doublehanded. Hopefully we'll make it to the Scillies next year. Securing Sponsorship We have been busy letter writing to secure sponsorship and help with trip costs. Many marinas have offered us free visitor berthing, Garmin have given Josie a handheld GPS and Sartech have offered to loan us EPIRBs. We still need a lot more help with sponsorship though so please see our wish list for other items we require or contact us to become a sponsor. Preparations for the challenge Nordlys is being stored at Fox's Marina over the winter so we can set about getting her ready the circumnavigation. When we set sail we'll start updating our blog again and you'll be able to follow our progress on the interactive map.

This calender should give you an idea of where we expect to be when. It is likely details will change as the plan progresses. Hopefully we can also use this for you to see when we have space for extra crew.
